The Pirate Shirt and Layered Skirt Costume Set pairs a white off-shoulder shirt — pleated neckline, wide flared sleeves that fall open at the wrist — with a layered skirt in deep red and black, tiered in ruffles under a high black waistband with gold button trim. It reads pirate, but it reads renaissance and steampunk just as easily.

Both pieces are polyester. The shirt's neckline and cuffs are elasticated, which is why the chart below gives bust as a wide range — it sits off the shoulder and stretches a long way. The skirt has an elastic high waist that pulls on, no zip or laces, and runs 33.5 inches long in every size, so it falls mid-calf on most people. Sizes run S through XXL on a women's fit.

It suits Halloween parties and costume contests, renaissance and medieval fairs, steampunk and gothic events, stage and theater productions, and photo shoots. It is one of the few costumes here that comes apart and keeps working — the shirt wears on its own with jeans long after October. Tall boots, loose hair, a wide belt or a sash if you have one, and it is finished.

Every measurement here is taken from the garments themselves, laid flat and listed in US inches — allow up to 1 in either way. The shirt is given as a bust range because the neckline and cuffs are elasticated, so the lower figure is how it sits relaxed and the upper is how far it gives; it is meant to sit off the shoulder. The skirt waist is elastic and is listed relaxed, so it stretches comfortably past the figure shown. Skirt length is the same in every size, measured from the waistband down.
